Clayton's Priorities

It's Time To Act.

For too long, Ontario has been held back by inaction on the most pressing issues we face. Our healthcare system is strained, housing is out of reach for too many, and families are struggling to afford the basics. Meanwhile, our education system and transportation networks—pillars of opportunity and growth—have been left to stagnate.

We can’t wait any longer to address these challenges. Ontario deserves better, and I believe we can build a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. That future starts with bold, forward-thinking policies that tackle problems head-on and deliver real solutions.

Imagine an Ontario where our healthcare system is accessible and efficient, where every family can find an affordable home, and where the cost of living no longer feels like a daily battle. Picture a province with world-class education that equips the next generation to succeed and transportation that connects us seamlessly to opportunity.

These aren’t just ideas—they’re achievable goals. But it requires leadership that refuses to settle for the status quo. Together, we can create a government that works for everyone, one that builds a better Ontario for today and generations to come.

Healthcare

Ontario’s healthcare system is at a breaking point, with unacceptably long wait times and a critical shortage of family doctors and nurses. Patients are left waiting months for appointments, and our overburdened hospitals face staffing crises that jeopardize care. It doesn’t have to be this way. We need bold, immediate action to recruit and retain healthcare professionals, streamline administrative burdens, and expand access to primary care. By investing in innovative solutions and supporting our frontline workers, we can build a healthcare system that puts patients first and ensures every Ontarian gets the timely, high-quality care they deserve.

Housing

Housing in Ontario has become unaffordable for far too many, with rising costs pushing home ownership and even rental options out of reach. Young families, seniors, and workers are struggling to find secure, affordable places to live, while housing supply fails to meet demand. This crisis didn’t happen overnight—it’s the result of years of inaction. We need bold policies to increase housing supply, create affordable options, and protect tenants from skyrocketing rents. By prioritizing smart development and supporting first-time buyers, we can ensure that everyone in Ontario has access to a safe, affordable place to call home.

Education

Ontario’s education system should give every student the opportunity to succeed, but years of underfunding have put that at risk. Our universities and colleges are struggling under unsustainable financial pressures, forcing cuts to programs, staff, and student services. Meanwhile, overcrowded classrooms, outdated resources, and a lack of support are holding back young learners. If we want a stronger future, we must properly fund post-secondary institutions, invest in smaller class sizes, and provide modern tools and support for students and educators. Ontario can’t afford to shortchange education—every student deserves the chance to thrive.

Affordability

The rising cost of living is making life unaffordable for families across Ontario. Groceries, housing, utilities, and everyday essentials are stretching budgets to the breaking point, leaving too many forced to make impossible choices. It’s clear that action is needed now to address this crisis. By reducing costs for families, providing targeted relief, and ensuring fair wages, we can ease the burden and restore financial security. No one in Ontario should have to choose between putting food on the table and paying their bills. Together, we can build a province where everyone can afford to live, work, and thrive.

Transportation

Ontario’s transportation network should connect people to opportunity, but for too long, it has fallen short. Congestion on highways, inadequate transit options, and lengthy commutes are holding us back. It’s time to reimagine how we get around. By expanding regional rail services, improving transit connections, and making trains a faster, more reliable option, we can bring Southern Ontario’s cities closer together. Imagine a province where getting to Toronto—or anywhere else—is seamless and sustainable. Investing in transportation isn’t just about moving people; it’s about unlocking economic potential and improving quality of life. Let’s build the connected Ontario we all deserve.
